Fjordcamp history

Rognan Fjordcamp_Josefa-Monsen

Josefa Monsen, 1912-1993

Josefa Monsen, the founder of Rognan Fjordcamp, was
an energetic and creative person...thoroughly practical
and always willing to be helpful to others. It was a natural
extension of her personality, therefore, to begin in the
early years of the 1960's renting rooms, providing
camping areas and building the first chalet (hytte).
A well-managed business that retains a friendly
and even compassionate attitude to the needs
and requirement of others will grow, so that over the
years Josefa's 'homely' personality created an
expanding business. Yet, this business retained such
a practicality about it's homeliness and the
level of service that it simply continued growing.

Hanna Monsen

In 1986, now aged 74, Josefa handed the management
of the business to her youngest daughter Hanna.
Josefa still continued to be active in some aspects of
the business but age and failing health eventually meant
that Hanna's energies and expertise could be fully
expressed and Rognan Fjordcamp, continuing it's
tradition of friendliness and homeliness, expanded
even more to meet the growing demand.
Hanna became a mother in 1991 and again in 1993 to
two boys and is presently assisted at Fjordcamp by
her man Frank.
Hanna has added many more facilities to Fjordcamp
and also has included in Fjordcamp's portfolio the
VILLA SJOTUN conference/Kurs facility. The homely,
personal, family atmosphere of Rognan Fjordcamp
continues to serve the needs of so many, from so many
different countries, helping them to have a memorable
and fun visit in this beautiful area of Norway.

Maybe that's why so many re-visit.

Hanna speaks good ENGLISH, GERMAN,SPANISH and
of course SWEDISH AND DANISH.
